Why Teams Are Making the Switch from Ninety to Strety
Ninety has been a great platform in the EOS® world for years — helping thousands of teams stay organized and on track with EOS. Honestly, we have a lot of respect for what they’ve built and the CEO and team behind the product.
However, over the past 12 months we’ve seen roughly a thousand companies make the move to Strety from Ninety.io.
Instead of us telling you why people are moving, we wanted to share their words on the why. So you can make the best decision for your organization.
Better EOS adoption with Strety as your EOS software
Our customers have found that by using Strety, they get more of their team successfully running on EOS.
We were on Ninety.io for two or three years, and half of my team never even logged in, even though they were signed up for it. They didn’t use it as much as I wanted them to. And it was a pain to have to ask them to go use it.
When we were in Ninety.io, we were just using EOS® at the executive level. Now in Strety, we have pushed it out across the organization. The ease of use of Strety has allowed us to push it across not only the executive level, but also into the department and individual levels. So we have now taken our EOS® implementation from a team of six executives to an organization of over seventy people.
It was easy to switch from Ninety to Strety because Strety is totally intuitive. Brian even came to one of our all-hands meetings and gave a quick demo for everyone before we went live. Even new employees pick it up right away. You really don’t need much training.
It’s such an obvious, self-led platform that you really don’t need training on it. In terms of ease of use for new starters, it’s probably one of the simplest tools you kind of got to be trained on. There’s not much of a learning curve. The team took to it better than a duck to water.
EOS+ features are winners
We believe in offering more features (what we call EOS+) in the same platform as running EOS. All at the same price. That’s what we want for ourselves, less SaaS logins!
Another draw for us were the reviews tool and one on one agendas. These performance management features are definitely a value add and fit beautifully with the rest of the EOS® framework that we’ve implemented through Strety. That’s been a hidden benefit of it.
Prior to this, we’d been using our HR system, Paylocity, for one on one meetings because we didn’t have good one on one meeting capabilities in Ninety. The transition from Ninety and Paylocity to Strety for one on ones has been seamless so far. We are using the 1:1 meetings tool across the organization.
Strety goes way beyond the capability of what you read in the pages of Traction. In the early days of trying Strety, we realized how much more powerful it was. Ninety is an adequate digitized version of the tools from Traction. But getting some experience with Strety showed us that we had been using the weaker of the two options.
Integrations in Strety vs Ninety EOS software
From our launch in 2023, integrations has been at our core with Strety… starting with a native Microsoft Teams app experience. Now we have 20+ integrations with large and small systems. From industry specific to broad based platforms. And don’t worry, Google & Slack too!
With Ninety.io it was almost like a whiteboard, where you go write something down in the conference room and then go back to your desk and forget about it until you had another meeting in the conference room. When we would go back the next week for another Level 10, no one had looked at or updated any of that information because Ninety.io was not integrated into our daily radar or process.
The challenge with Ninety.io was that it was so standalone away from our other tools. Every tool we have that doesn’t integrate to our other tools becomes another place we have to go do double entry. So we’re constantly spending time cutting and pasting from one to the other.
Over time, it became clear that our To Dos weren’t really being integrated into our team’s other tools. There was some confusion about the best place to store them — within Ninety.io, Teams, or Outlook. The integration piece was really the catalyst of why we switched from Ninety.io to Strety.
I was about to pull the trigger on buying seats for everyone on Ninety.io when I took a look at Strety. What I found was that Strety integrates into Microsoft Teams and it integrates into AutoTask, which is our primary hub. The integrations make our lives so much easier.
Strety’s integrations addressed our major issues with running our business out of Ninety. One major example is integrating into our PSA for to-dos so we have less places to track tasks.
Strety is EOS software built by operators, for operators
Selfishly, we build for ourselves as customer #1. And that has resonated for many who are just like us.
Another thing I liked about Strety was I feel that there’s a lot more connection to the Strety team as a small business owner. They lived in our world a lot longer. Ninety.io is more of a classic venture-backed company with an enterprise mindset. You can see the way Strety’s built that it was built for business owners by people who got what we did, and that is really powerful.
The Strety team was incredible. They dove right in, asked us what we needed, and allowed us to talk directly to the developer, who said, ‘Here’s what I can pull in — does this look right?’ It was an awesome, easy transition. And that’s the beauty of working with organizations like Strety that have an active development cycle: they’re looking to build something, as opposed to just having an offering that’s static and doesn’t evolve with their clients’ usage.
When any of our team asked for anything during the initial implementation, the Strety team made changes within days. It really helped reinforce that this is not only a great tool, but it’s backed by a great team. The momentum of so many improvements happening so quickly is exciting and keeps everyone engaged, which certainly has helped with adoption.
We build Strety with one goal: help businesses run calmly
Generally speaking, our vision is to build beautiful EOS based software to help you run a calmer organization. The how is what you just read above. We’ll leave you with these last few quotes though if you haven’t had enough already!
Since we’ve been running EOS® on Strety, the team gets tangible results out of EOS®. They’re actually running their own meetings and asking, ‘Well, can we build an agenda and use Strety to do this or that for us?’ And of course the answer is yes. Now they’re taking it and they’re running with it. Instead of being a directive from me like it was with Ninety, it’s an enablement tool for them as a department.
Strety helped a lot by making our framework front and center to everyone on the team. You can’t ignore it, because you can’t ignore your scorecard. You can’t ignore your review. That was a big change from using Ninety.
When we moved onto Strety, it was the first time we introduced the team at large to using the EOS® framework. Prior to that, it had just been the leadership team. Now we’re driving the engagement in Strety.
I’ve never seen a tool that our team was asking for so enthusiastically — they could not wait to get their hands on it. They loved it from the beginning, they immediately felt the value and improvement to their team L10s.
