EOS Pure Version of Strety Now Available!

If you’ve been a member of the EOS community for any length of time, you’ve heard the phrase “EOS pure.” To a lot of people (including us, at times) “purity” was the equivalent of “strict” or “restrained.” The truth is, a lot of people who self-implement EOS shy away from perceived “purity.”

We’ve heard it a lot….

  • “I read Traction a while ago and we’ve been running on EOS ever since… kinda”
  • “We run on EOS but not the whole framework — it doesn’t fit our business perfectly”
  • “We do Rocks and Scorecards but the V/TO seems like a bit of a time suck.”
  • “EOS Pure software only scratches the surface of what we really need to do as a business.”

On the other hand, EOS Implementers and people with deep knowledge of EOS know just how powerful the framework is — and how it works so well when you run it “purely” — aka addressing each component in the EOS Model with the correct tools.

The frustration from people who flex the framework is: “pure EOS doesn’t work for my business… it’s too one-size-fits-all and doesn’t address everything.”

The frustration from EOS purists: “People say that EOS doesn’t work… but they’ve never run it correctly!”

At Strety, our leadership team has about a decade of EOS self-implementation experience — with an emphasis on flexibility. We’ve worked with more EOS Implementers than ever since getting our official license from EOS Worldwide, and we’ve engaged our own implementer on the journey from self-implementing to implementer-led. We’ve seen the power of purity, which, to us, doesn’t mean restriction. EOS Purity is a foundation to build upon, not the end-all be-all of how to run a business.

We also know the power of a platform that can do more than just pure EOS — we’ve built out an entire EOS+ feature set to support more of the execution that business operators really need. We’re passionate about helping businesses save time and money by collapsing their SaaS tools into one platform.

We’ve thought long and hard about the concept of “EOS Pure” versus flexibility and building upon a foundation of EOS. Navigating that balance is how we’re running Strety as a business. And now, the balance between EOS Pure and EOS+ is reflected in our product.

Enter: the EOS Pure Strety.

What is the EOS Pure version of Strety?

In its simplest terms, the EOS Pure version of Strety removes advanced features that fall outside of the pure EOS tools that are foundational to an implementation. One big example is our Projects feature, which can be turned off for the EOS pure version of Strety.

It also removes the ability to flex the EOS framework established in Traction and considered pure by many EOS experts. An example here is our Issues “Parking Lot” feature. With Parking Lot on, an Issue could fall into one of three buckets: Short Term, Long Term, and Parking Lot. Parking Lot is a feature request we got from people who had Issues that they knew they wanted to wait until their Quarterly or Annual to address. They didn’t want to see these Issues clogging up their agendas as either Short Term or Long Term.

The EOS Pure way is to actually just stick those Issues in your Long Term Issues List, so you only have two buckets: Short Term and Long Term. So if you really want to be pure in how you bucket your Issues, you can turn off Parking Lot, and voila! EOS Purity is yours.

The TL;DR version of “what is EOS pure software in Strety” is this: it turns off additional features and flexibility/customization options that fall outside of what you see in the book Traction.

Why did we build it?

It’s not really in our nature as software builders or innovators to remove good features from people’s experience. That’s why we don’t have tiered pricing or a limited free version of Strety — we believe in building a robust EOS platform at an affordable price that will help operators run their businesses more effectively, with EOS at the core.

That being said, we know that flexibility is key for people. While as business operators, we have more in common than not, people do have unique needs depending on their business and where they are in their EOS journey. We heard a growing desire for a version of Strety that was laser-focused on the foundational tools core to running on EOS. EOS Implementers we work with asked for additional guardrails to make change management easier on their clients. And when our customers and partners ask us for something, we listen.

Our core focus as a business is to help other business operators run calmly with EOS. And if limiting the features that appear in your platform makes your EOS implementation easier and calmer, we are here to support you.

How did we approach building EOS pure software?

We build for ourselves as customer #1 — a startup running on EOS. We’ve always gotten advice from EOS implementers along the way — EOS experts have left their fingerprints all over the product.

When creating an EOS pure version of Strety, we leaned on our own experience, the Implementer community, and our customers who needed the pure version to let us know what people considered core to their EOS implementation. At the end of the day, the EOS pure version of Strety isn’t some wildly different experience — it’s achieving feature parity with other EOS software out there, but by subtraction instead of addition.

Who is the EOS Pure version good for?

We’ve seen a few groups of people for whom EOS pure software is a great starting off point:

  • People fresh out of Focus Day. After your first Focus Day with an EOS Implementer, you’re probably excited — and a bit overwhelmed. You have a huge change management initiative ahead of you, and a few tools you need to get started with right away. Jumping into an EOS pure platform like Strety gives you a clear starting point.
  • Self-implementers new to EOS. If you’re self-implementing (like we did for many years), it’s all too easy to get lost in the jargon and wonder what’s really important and special about the framework. The EOS pure version of Strety gives you guardrails to help guide a successful self-implementation.
  • People getting their EOS implementation out of spreadsheets and into software. If you’re running EOS on spreadsheets right now, the EOS Pure version of Strety will be a huge upgrade. And it will give you a great 1:1 translation of the EOS tools you’re already using, without bringing additional features into the mix.
  • People switching from other EOS software. If you’re switching to Strety from another EOS software, our EOS pure version will give you 100% of the features you’ve already experienced, but with improved design, intuitiveness, integrations to your other tools, and more delight. Getting set up in the EOS pure version and running a couple of L10s before exploring advanced features could make the transition feel a bit more comfortable.

TL;DR: the EOS Pure version of Strety is great for people who are a little apprehensive on the change management side of implementing EOS in their business.

That being said, our EOS+ features help businesses save money by collapsing their tech stack, boost visibility by streamlining more work and context into one place, and increase EOS engagement by weaving EOS into everyday workflows. Additionally, our customers rave about our world-class, white-glove support — always from real humans, never AI. We’ve helped thousands of businesses onboard into smooth, successful EOS implementations in Strety, and we’re excited to help you, too. The people on our team are change management experts — we live and breathe this stuff everyday. We’re confident we can help you, no matter how broad or focused you want your Strety implementation to be.

If you’re excited to jump into Strety and take advantage of the additional features and functionality you won’t find in other EOS software — dive into EOS+!

But if you want some extra guardrails as you get started, start in the EOS Pure version of Strety. Run some L10 meetings, get acquainted with the tools. Once you feel comfortable, EOS+ will be right there waiting for you, at no extra cost.
